Shavonne + Tyson – 09/22/2018

We talk a great deal about the One Barn Farm estate being a blank canvas for couples to craft a wedding event that's unique to them...and Shavonne and Tyson's wedding celebration was a perfect personification of their love and life: feminine florals mixed with masculine antler elements, Puerto Rican delicacies and Central PA venison, and stylish and unique uses of our Walnut Grove and Estate Lawn areas.

Shavonne and Tyson were the first couple to choose the Walnut Grove as their ceremony spot.  Located just to the west of our Bank Barn, our stand of mature Black Walnut trees and a slight natural sloping of the ground create an intimate woodland-style amphitheater. Shavonne and Tyson rented our rustic wooden archway for their ceremony backdrop, with white fabric swagged on the arch and lanterns and huge hunks of wood as surrounding decor.  Our white resin folding ceremony chairs were arranged in a split arc with wood hunks and baby's breath adorning the aisles.

As guests entered the Walnut Grove, a table awaited them filled with wedding programs on sturdy wooden craft sticks to double as fans, packets of lavender to toss at the couple during their recessional and a variety of sprays to keep bugs at bay.

The processional started from the north side of the Bank Barn, with the bride and her father walking down the aisle to a touching, instrumental version of Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters."

Upon completion of the ceremony, guests were ushered to the Terrace Garden for a delicious Puerto Rican/Central PA mix of appetizers including rellenos de papa and homemade venison sausage. Guests enjoyed enjoyed cocktails and lawn games on the Estate Lawn, while the wedding party traversed the property for pictures.

Guests made their way back to the Bank Barn for the reception dinner provided by Feast of Flavor Catering. With happily full bellies from slow roasted pot roast, garlic roasted potatoes and all the fixings, guests were ushered out to the Estate Lawn for the remainder of the evening.

Shavonne and Tyson took advantage of the gorgeous September evening and were the first couple to host open-air dancing on the Estate Lawn with a tentless tent frame.  Patio lights adorned the large tent framing from Any Event Rental to provide some serious mood lighting, while a wood floor was installed for dancing. Mirella's Fine Cakes & Pastries provided many different types of sweets including flan, cookies, doughnuts and brownies. Guests were also treated to freshly made popcorn with a variety of yummy toppings, a sundae bar and a s'mores bar.

The fire pit down at the Mill Pond provided a low-key respite during the evening festivities, with cozy, comfy blankets and quilts to help ward off the September evening chill.

We were honored to help Shavonne and Tyson celebrate their union with friends and family.  Congratulations you two and happiest wishes for your new life together!

We also thank these tremendously talented and dedicated folks who helped make Shavonne and Tyson's wedding a reality:
