Our first wedding of 2018 was a homecoming, of sorts, for Meaghan and Christian. They met while attending Bucknell University in nearby Lewisburg...so, naturally, the ceremony was held at Rooke Chapel on the Bucknell University campus, complete with a bubble send-off.
For the reception, guests were bussed en masse out to the estate, where they were greeted with beverages upon arrival and enjoyed cocktail hour on the cozy south barn lawn. Appetizers were served via floating wait staff and a larger, self-serve spread inside the Bank Barn. David Mendelsohn from Love Revival Orchestra provided solo guitar listening music, and guests also entertained themselves with a variety of lawn games.
The wedding party joined the guests for the last part of cocktail hour. To help move everyone from the barn area down to the Estate Lawn for dinner, the Love Revival Orchestra paraded through the cocktail area, 'Nawlins-style. The wedding party formed a dancing line behind the band, and the guests followed the tunes down to the gorgeously decorated sailcloth tent. The wedding party and guests danced a few numbers before sitting down to dinner, speeches, toasts and lots of laughs. The evening ended with dancing (truly, LRO had the dance floor hoppin') and a DIY S'mores bar at the Mill Pond fire pit.
